SMS Traffic Alerts

Get up-to-date traffic news for any motorway/road by SMS to your mobile phone and avoid the traffic jams, incidents and roadworks that slow you down.

Avoid traffic hotspots and incidents by getting the latest conditions when you're out and about - just send us a text message outlined below and we'll send you the latest traffic news to your mobile, saving you time and frustration.

It's a quick and easy way to check for traffic jams, queues and incidents when you're out and about with no access to your PC.

Follow the instructions below to get the latest traffic updates to your phone: Texts cost £1 per SMS plus standard network charges.

Select New SMS on your mobile
Create a new text message, just as you would if you were sending a text to your best mate.
Type 68899 as the recipient
Select the 'To:' input box, and type in the number 68899 (our short code)
Choose a location, road or postcode
Type TRAFFIC plus your choice of motorway, postcode, town or road.
For example,
TRAFFIC M25 TRAFFIC CV2 1AA TRAFFIC LIVERPOOL TRAFFIC A49
Press SEND
Your message will connect to us, and we'll send traffic incidents back to you.
That's it!
Each SMS will also link to further specific information about each incident.
Texts cost £1 per SMS plus standard network charges. Your details will only be used to send you one individual Traffic Alert (this is not an ongoing subscription service), and we never share any details with third parties.

Terms & Conditions

Please ensure that you only send the word 'TRAFFIC' plus a road (e.g. 'A5'), motorway (e.g. 'M6'), postcode (e.g. 'WS33PD') or town (e.g. 'Leeds'). Sending any other combination of words such as 'A5 Towards Telford' may not relay the correct traffic updates, and you may still be charged.
