The MS Serenissima, with 112 passengers onboard, hit sand and gravel on Monday at 6.30pm, according to the BBC report. Stornoway Coastguard and Oban RNLI managed to refloat the ship seven hours after it became stuck in Oban Bay on the west coast of Scotland. There were no reports of any injuries to staff or passengers, and there was no damage to the cruiseliner. However, divers will examine the hull of the 85m ship to ensure that it is safe. The ship was heading to Oban from Ireland, and will be setting sail to its next destination on Tuesday night. An earlier attempt to refloat the ship failed due to high winds in the area.
