M69
The M69 is a motorway in the English Midlands. It begins as an upgrade from the A46 and A6 at Leicester, passing Coventry and terminating at the A5/M42 junction near Nuneaton. The M69 was opened in 1977 and is about 16 miles (26 kilometres) long.
The M69 has a good safety record, with a relatively low crash rate compared with other roads. In 2019, there were 12 injury collisions resulting in 14 casualties on the M69, which represents less than 5% of the injury collisions and only 3% of the casualties in Warwickshire. This compares to over 11% of injury collisions and over 17% of casualties on other roads in the same area.
It is estimated that between 2009 and 2019 the M69 motorway has saved up to 40 lives due to its good safety record.
