Listing of the approved explosive detection systems for cabin baggage (EDSCB) approved by the Department for Transport for use in aviation security.

The approved EDSCB analyses cabin bags and trays for the presence of explosive material.

This listing has a 3 tier standard approval. The first standard, C1, is approved for use in airports.

The remaining standards, C2 and C3, will require special approval from us before being used.

3 August 2023 Addition of C1+ and C2+ configurations.

20 June 2023 Minor corrections to Smiths Detection entries to remain consistent with ECAC common evaluation process.

23 February 2023 New document has the following changes: - Several lines combined to be consistent with ECAC Common Evaluation Process list of approved equipment

28 October 2022 1 updated equipment configuration added to the list from Nuctech.

8 July 2022 7 updated equipment configurations added to the list from Nuctech.

16 February 2022 List updated with 4 new equipment configurations added from Nuctech, 3 new equipment configurations added from Rapiscan, 2 new equipment configurations added from Smiths Detection and 5 updated equipment configurations added from Smiths Detection. Formatting has been set to mirror ECAC descriptors.
