Guidance: Port facility security officer training: list of approved training providers

Published: 20 February 2024

All UK ports must have a certified port facility security officer (PFSO). The PFSO is required to:

  • implement security measures stated in the International Ship and Port Facility Code (ISPS Code)
  • train other staff in general security awareness and to aid this we have produced various security materials which are available on request

Although a single PFSO is allowed to be responsible for multiple facilities each facility must have a PFSO.

PFSO certification can only be awarded by our approved training providers.

You can contact us if you:

  • have questions about the status of a company providing training
  • wish to become an accredited training provider
